I love having a blog, but maybe a side effect of posting a lot is that I’m getting ridiculous amounts of spam slipping through Akismet. It’s definitely turned on, and it’s definitely doing its job because tons of stuff is getting caught. But man. So much spam.
Did you ever have “Hamette” sandwiches in your school as a child? We did. And the older I get, the more convinced I am that they were serving us Spam Sandwiches. Grilled, or fried, or somehow warmed on a skillet (or perhaps even in the oven), it was an absolutely delicious sandwich. I’m not curious enough, however, to buy Spam and try it. They do sell single-serving Spam in the store, though. That was interesting, and almost enough to get me to try it because that’s like the least risk. Open it up, and waste an entire 97¢ if it’s too gross to proceed.
I’ve spent my day getting ready for this afternoon when we celebrate a birthday in the family. Now that half of the folks accompanying me are home, we’re just waiting for the other half to get out of school before going to catch a movie. On a school night! I know, I’m such a daring momma. But it’s an early show, so I think we might be pushing it a little, but not too badly.
No writing today yet, but there’s time. I have to go back to work after having two lovely days off, though. I am not especially thrilled about that. But the time was worth it, and I need to plan for my April day. I might try for the middle of the month, but definitely a Wednesday next time. Being able to stay out late with my writing friends is very nice.
